Join us for Daniel Hamermesh’s talk, “O Youth and Beauty: Children’s Looks and Children’s Cognitive Development,” in room 9207.

Hamermesh is distinguished scholar at Barnard College, a fellow of the Econometric Society and the Society of Labor Economists, a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and network director for the Institute of the Study of Labor (IZA). He is an emeritus professor of economics at Royal Holloway University of London, and the University of Texas at Austin. His research, published in over 100 refereed papers in scholarly journals, has concentrated on time use, labor demand, discrimination, academic labor markets, and unusual applications of labor economics (to beauty, sleep and suicide).
