One week after the midterm elections, Paul Krugman and Heather Cox Richardson join in a timely conversation. From their unique vantage points as an economist and a historian, who are both now independent commentators with large followings on Substack, Krugman and Richardson weigh in on the state of democracy, politics, the economy, and the free press. With personal insight, they look at how the media landscape in American has shifted away from legacy outlets to alternative forms of commentary, and how these new forms influence the national discussion. Krugman is a Nobel laureate, former New York Times columnist, and research professor of Economics at the CUNY Graduate Center. Richardson is a professor of history at Boston College and author of, most recently, Democracy Awakening.
