Daniel Waldenström is a professor of economics at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics in Stockholm. His research focuses on income and wealth distribution and taxation, and has appeared in leading scientific journals and books at international publishing houses. He is a fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research, Institute for the Future of Labor, Center for Economic Studies, and the World Inequality Lab, and has been a visiting scholar at the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago. Waldenström acted as advisor to the Swedish Minister of Finance in the Council of Advisors between 2021 and 2024, including a special appointment as advisor for Corona Crisis Policies. He has long-standing experience as advisor to public agencies, the OECD, and the European Commission. He is a frequent commentator in European and global media regarding economic policies and research matters.
