Swedish sociologist Robert Erikson delivered the first Lee Rainwater Memorial Lecture. This inaugural lecture, co-hosted by the Stone Center and the Harvard University Sociology Department, was presented at Harvard University.
The Lee Rainwater Memorial Lecture Series was created to honor the sociologist Lee Rainwater (1928-2015), who was a co-founder of the Luxembourg Income Study. During the first 30 minutes of this video, Professor Rainwater is remembered by friends, family, and colleagues. Following that, Professor Erikson delivers his lecture, “Social Selection in Education and its Consequences for Mobility.”
