With a long road to economic recovery ahead, we must ask not only how to get there, but who will recover? Will some be left behind? While much of the population has been cushioned, even accumulating savings during this period, lower-paid workers have faced loss of income without a safety net, exacerbating existing inequalities. What measures will help the U.S. get through the pandemic, and what policies will be needed to rebuild in way that is equitable for all?

A panel of experts addresses these important questions, featuring: Paul Krugman, distinguished professor of economics at The Graduate Center, CUNY, and author of Arguing with Zombies: Economics, Politics, and the Fight for a Better FutureHeidi Shierholz, senior economist and director of policy at the Economic Policy Institute; and Ellen Zentner, managing director and chief U.S. economist at Morgan Stanley. Karl Smith, an opinion columnist at Bloomberg, moderates.
