Lane Kenworthy, in this presentation for the Stone Center’s 2020 “Inequality by the Numbers” virtual workshop, offers an overview of trends in several measures of income inequality across a set of 21 rich democracies. He also evaluates a wide range of potential causes and consequences of these trends, with a particular focus on understanding the U.S. case in comparative perspective. Kenworthy is a faculty member at the University of California, San Diego.
