Leslie McCall, in this presentation for the Stone Center’s 2020 “Inequality by the Numbers” virtual workshop, critically examines common assumptions underlying how Americans think about issues of economic inequality and related policies to reduce inequality. She uses a wide range of data sources to analyze public views in the U.S. over time and compared to a set of peer countries. McCall is a senior scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality and a faculty member of the Graduate Center, CUNY.
