Daniel Waldenström is a professor of economics at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics in Stockholm. His research focuses on income and wealth distribution and taxation, and has appeared in leading scientific journals and books at international publishing houses. He is a fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research, Institute for the Future of Labor, Center for Economic Studies, and the World Inequality Lab, and has been a visiting scholar at the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago. Waldenström has been a member of the Swedish Minister of Finance’s Special Council of Advisors since 2020, including a special appointment as advisor for Corona Crisis Policies. He also has long-standing experience as an advisor to the OECD, the European Commission, and other government agencies. He is a frequent commentator in European and global media regarding economic policies and research matters.
