Paul Krugman, in this presentation for the Stone Center’s 2020 “Inequality by the Numbers” virtual workshop, analyzes the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic and the form of inequality that the U.S. is currently experiencing. He discusses the pandemic’s vastly unequal impact across the labor market and what this suggests about social safety net policies. Krugman is a senior scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality, a faculty member at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and a New York Times columnist.
